First Holy Communion Hairstyles for Girls
First Holy Communion Hairstyles for Girls 2012
A First Holy Communion is a rite of passage in many sects of the
Christian faith that is typically made around the age of 7 or 8. On this
very special day, looking your best is important . A hairstyle can help
a young girl look formal and polished for this special occasion.
A Curly Bun
For a girl with medium to long hair, a curly bun is elegant and
sophisticated. To achieve, pull the hair back into a neat, high
ponytail. Split the ponytail into 1 inch sections, using a curling iron
to curl each section. Using pins, pin the curls around the base of the
ponytail until it is completely covered along the top, bottoms and
sides. Faux flowers or pretty pins can be placed in and around the bun
to add more interest to the style.
Curly Ponytails
This hairstyle comes from Little Girls Hairstyles and is sweet and
whimsical for a First Holy Communion. To create this style, curl your
child's shoulder-length or longer hair using a curling iron or hot
rollers. Once the hair is curled, split the hair in three sections: on
the top, in the middle and on the bottom. Using hair ties, secure each
section into a ponytail along the midline of the head, one on top of the
other. Use a few curls from the ponytails to hide the hair ties-
securing with bobby pins.
Wear It Down
Girls with any length hair, short, medium or long, can wear it down and
have it styled formally. There are a variety of ways to wear hair down.
It can be parted to the side, and using a roller brush and a hairdryer,
curled under to look polished and neat. Ringlets, loose curls and hair
that is curled just at the end can be created using a curling iron or
hot rollers. Pretty barrettes or a head band can be used to pull back
just the front or sides of the hair, allowing the back half of the hair
to be worn down.
Half Up, Half Down
A half up, half down hairstyle is very sweet for a little girl to wear
on her First Holy Communion. There are a few ways a half up, half down
style can be worn. Pull the top half of the hair back so that it is
smooth. Secure it near the top of the head with a hair tie or a pretty
clip to create a polished look. Another option is to part the hair down
the middle and separate a small section of hair along the hairline on
either side of the head. Pull these two sections of the hair back,
joining them together and securing with a hair tie or clip. A half up,
half down hairstyle can be worn with both straight and curly hair.
